Wir suchen für unsere Business Unit Digital Engineering einen erfahrenen Senior AI / LLM Engineer (m/w/d).

Dieser Geschäftsbereich kombiniert fundiertes Ingenieurwissen mit moderner Technologie, um Entwicklungswerkzeuge bereitzustellen, die es Automobilteams ermöglichen, fortschrittliche Fahrzeugfunktionen und komplexe Automobilsysteme zu entwickeln, zu testen und zu validieren.

In dieser Rolle übernimmst Du für den Scope AI / LLM eine Schlüsselposition bei der technischen Umsetzung unserer Projekte und dem Wissensaufbau im Unternehmen und unterstützt bei der Auswahl, Integration und Weiterentwicklung von Large Language Models (LLMs) und agentischen KI-Systemen.

Du arbeitest an der Schnittstelle von Forschung, Systemarchitektur und Projektpraxis — und gestaltest mit, wie AI-Lösungen künftig in unseren Kundenprojekten eingesetzt werden.

Deine Aufgaben

Auswahl und Setup geeigneter LLMs für unterschiedliche Anwendungsfälle
Beratung und Implementierung von Prompt-Engineering-Strategien je nach Modell und Kontext
Guidance und Unterstützung bei Daten-Synthese und Trainingsdaten-Erstellung
Mitarbeit in konkreten Kunden- und Forschungsprojekten (z. B. Wissensrepräsentationsmodellen, agentischen AI-Architekturen oder der Evaluierung von AI-Komponenten)
Aufbau und Verbreitung von AI-Kompetenz im Unternehmen – Schulungen, interne Workshops, Projektintegration
Aktive Beobachtung des AI-/LLM-Marktes und Einbringung neuer Entwicklungen in die Unternehmensstrategie

Dein Profil

Du hast ein erfolgreich abgeschlossenes Studium der Informatik oder eine vergleichbare erfolgreich abgeschlossene Ausbildung
Du bist selbstbewusst und bringst Dich gerne mit kreativen Ideen ein, arbeiten im Team macht Dir Spaß und offene Kommunikation ist für Dich eine Selbstverständlichkeit

Must-have:

Fundierte Kenntnisse zu Large Language Models (LLMs): Architektur, Fine-Tuning, API-Integration
Erfahrung mit Prompt Engineering, Context Management und Model Guidance
Technisches Setup von LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, Llama 2/3, Falcon, u. a.)
Gutes Verständnis von Softwarearchitekturen (APIs, Containerisierung, Data Pipelines, Security)
Programmierkenntnisse (Python, LangChain, LlamaIndex oder vergleichbare Frameworks)
Systematisches und analytisches Denken, ausgeprägte Fähigkeit zur strukturierten Problemlösung
Fähigkeit, komplexe technische Konzepte für verschiedene Stakeholder verständlich zu vermitteln
Sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift

Erfahrung in Agentic AI-Systemen / Multi-Agent Architectures (MCP)
Kenntnisse in Wissensrepräsentation

Your team

We are looking for an experienced Senior AI/LLM Engineer (m/f/d) to join our Digital Engineering business unit. This business unit combines deep engineering with modern technology to deliver engineering tools that empower automotive teams to design, test and validate advanced vehicle functions and complex automotive systems

You will support our company in the selection, integration, and further development of Large Language Models (LLMs) and agent-based AI systems.

In this role, you will play a key part in the technical implementation of our AI/LLM projects and in building knowledge within the company.

You will work at the interface of research, system architecture, and project practice—and help shape how AI solutions will be used in our customer projects in the future.

Your mission

Selection and setup of suitable LLMs for different use cases
Consulting and implementation of prompt engineering strategies depending on the model and context
Guidance and support for data synthesis and training data creation
Participation in specific customer and research projects (e.g., knowledge representation models, agentic AI architectures, or the evaluation of AI components)
Development and dissemination of AI expertise within the company – training, internal workshops, project integration
Active monitoring of the AI/LLM market and integration of new developments into the company strategy

Your profile

You have a successfully completed degree in computer science or a comparable successfully completed apprenticeship
You are self-confident and like to contribute creative ideas, you enjoy working in a team and open communication is a matter of course for you

Must-have:

Solid knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs): architecture, fine-tuning, API integration
Experience with prompt engineering, context management, and model guidance
Technical setup of LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, Llama 2/3, Falcon, etc.)
Good understanding of software architectures (APIs, containerization, data pipelines, security)
Programming skills (Python, LangChain, LlamaIndex, or comparable frameworks)
Systematic and analytical thinking, strong ability for structured problem-solving
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to various stakeholders
Excellent written and spoken German and English

Nice-to-have:

Experience with Agentic AI systems / Multi-Agent Architectures (MCP)
Knowledge of knowledge representation
Experience in integrating knowledge systems into LLM-based applications
Experience with Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and vector databases
